1. Our Commitment

ScaleUp Global Ltd is committed to operating responsibly, minimising its environmental impact and supporting the transition to a sustainable, low-carbon economy.

As a UK-based business providing digital platforms, business intelligence, consultancy and growth support services, our direct environmental footprint is relatively small. Nevertheless, we recognise our responsibility to understand, manage and reduce the environmental impact of our activities.

We have established a target to achieve Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2030, covering Scopes 1, 2 and material Scope 3 emissions.

Our approach is based on three principles: measuring our environmental impact, reducing emissions wherever practical and addressing residual emissions through credible environmental initiatives.

2. Our Net Zero Commitment

ScaleUp Global has committed to achieving Net Zero by 2030.

Our commitment covers:

Scope 1: Direct emissions

Emissions arising from sources owned or controlled by ScaleUp Global, including any company-owned vehicles or directly operated facilities, where applicable.

Scope 2: Purchased energy

Indirect emissions associated with electricity, heating or cooling purchased for business operations, where applicable.

Scope 3: Value chain emissions

Relevant indirect emissions associated with our business activities, including:

We will progressively assess our emissions across these categories, prioritising those most relevant to our operations.

3. Carbon Measurement and Reporting

ScaleUp Global will establish a proportionate annual carbon footprint assessment, appropriate to the size and nature of the business.

This assessment will consider energy consumption, business travel, digital infrastructure and relevant supply chain activities.

We will use recognised greenhouse gas accounting principles, including the Greenhouse Gas Protocol, wherever practical.

Our initial assessment will establish a baseline against which future emissions reductions can be measured.

We will review our progress annually and update our environmental commitments as the business develops.

4. Reducing Our Environmental Impact

We are committed to reducing emissions at source wherever reasonably practicable.

Our priorities include:

Digital-first operations

We prioritise digital communications, electronic documentation and online collaboration to minimise printing, physical distribution and unnecessary travel.

Remote and flexible working

We support flexible working arrangements that reduce commuting requirements and associated emissions.

Responsible business travel

We encourage virtual meetings wherever appropriate and seek to minimise unnecessary business travel.

Energy efficiency

We encourage energy-efficient working practices and responsible use of computing equipment, office facilities and other resources.

Responsible procurement

Where practical, we consider the environmental credentials of technology providers, professional services partners and other suppliers when making purchasing decisions.

Waste reduction

We seek to minimise waste, extend the useful life of equipment and support reuse and recycling wherever possible.

5. Carbon Offsetting and Residual Emissions

While reducing emissions remains our priority, we recognise that some emissions may be difficult to eliminate entirely.

ScaleUp Global intends to support credible, independently verified carbon reduction and removal projects as part of its wider environmental strategy.

We will prioritise projects demonstrating measurable environmental benefits, transparent reporting and recognised independent verification.

Carbon credits will complement, rather than replace, our efforts to reduce emissions.

Any future claim of having achieved Net Zero will be supported by appropriate emissions accounting and evidence that remaining emissions have been addressed in line with recognised Net Zero principles.

6. Environmental Responsibility

The Board of Directors has overall responsibility for implementing this policy and reviewing environmental performance.

As a small organisation, environmental considerations are integrated into our day-to-day business decisions rather than managed through a separate environmental department.

We encourage employees, contractors, suppliers and business partners to support responsible environmental practices.

7. Continuous Improvement

We recognise that environmental standards, technologies and expectations will continue to evolve.

We therefore commit to:

8. Policy Review and Approval

This policy will be reviewed annually by the Board of Directors, or sooner where significant changes to our operations or applicable environmental requirements occur.
